Summer Snapshots

Getting ready for the Shakespeare production of the summer: The Comedy of Errors.

Our Shakespeare class is led by a teaching artist from Hudson Valley Shakespeare.

Swim lessons are a core component of our summer program. Our enrichment programming extends beyond academics and means providing access to pools and instruction as well.

A special thank you to Chappaqua Swim & Tennis and the Saw Mill Club.

We are so lucky to have Coach DeBellis, Horace Greeley's Greenhouse & STEAM Center Director, getting our scholars acquainted with the tools in the STEAM Center.

This year, we had the scholars present ideas for their summer project.

New this year to our afternoon schedule were lessons in music producing at Green Room Music.

A summer favorite - cooking class at the New Castle Community Center!

One of the biggest events of the summer is an evening at Hudson Valley Shakespeare. This year, we studied and attended the HVS performance of The Comedy of Error.

Softball night is another scholar favorite because it brings CCSD students together with the CSSP scholars for a friendly game. Big thanks to the coaches and players from NCBSA for joining us!

Cathy Hildenbrand guides the scholars on a meditation hike through one of New Castle's natural treasures - Glazier Preserve.

Scholars spend time in the evenings with their host families.

Doing activities together around our community is a highlight of the CSSP experience.

Scholars are a part of the big family moments too - like sleepaway camp drop off!
